Polyphonic
Voices: About the Project
OVERVIEW:
The 15 tracks comprising Polyphonic Voices Of Digital Dissent
were created in response to a nationwide CommTom call for content,
urging socially aware contributions from electronic and computer musicians
who are deeply concerned about Americas current political (dis)course.
Inspired by media activists (Jim Hightower, Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky,
etc.) who continue to create alternative responses to corporate mainstream
news information, CommTom wishes merely to politicize
listeners, and to encourage other citizens to exercise their rights;
of speech, of assembly, and to VOTE. Exercise prevents atrophy.
The physical CD-R is 100% clean (radio-friendly, with no profanity),
and is being offered exclusively to radio stations across America
for on-air broadcast and webcast. The compilation is not for sale.
About
the"Bonus Tracks"
Some
of the material we received was outside the scope of the call for
materials, either due to time constraints (track was too long) or
the material was unsuitable for radio airplay (which was the primary
focus of the project.)
