a special
track for
a special day for
a special number:
pi-day 3.14
one day back in 1992 or 1993 my friend brian kane made this book called
"pi". it was a book made up of the computation of pi. the
book was printed from a file. the file has 1258 lines in it. i converted
the text file into audio. i manipulated the audio file using
A r g e ï p h o n t e s Lyre. i did this a lot. then i arranged
these resulting audio files using Ableton Live. then i took a sample
from a song called "pie" and did the same thing with it.
after that i found this website where this computerized voice just
counts off (in french) the numbers of pi, ostensibly with some sort
of accuracy (but hey who's counting?). i recorded that too, because
i thought it would be kind of fun to use as like "the vocal track".
that's pretty much it. it's pretty rough sounding, but i like it.
