Galactus Zeit Live

Galactus Zeit

Galactus Zeit is the delirium-fueled brainchild of Trace Reddell (a.k.a. The pHarmanaut). Reddell has been exploring the intersections of literary criticism, audio and multimedia production, digital networks, media theory, and the history of drug culture for almost 15 years.

His works have been included on several .microsound.org compilations, Kunstnett Norge's 2002: The International Day of Time-Specific Art, Stasisfield's Palimpsest Project, and at Electronic Book Review. He established Radio pHarmakopolis as part of the OpenAir Radiotopia for Ars Electronica 2002. Reddell curates a monthly electronic audio series at Denver's Museum of Contemporary Art, and he has recently begun editing the music/sound/noise series at Electronic Book Review and curates Alt-X Audio. He currently teaches and directs the graduate program in digital media studies at the University of Denver in Colorado.

Recent Galactus Zeit performances have featured collaborations with Tyler Potts and E23. Their SonicPOP performances at Denver's MCA offered up a spacey microsonic tribute to the icons of mid-1960s Marvel comics: the galactic dramas inked by Jack Kirby (Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, The Inhumans) and the multidimensional psychedelia of Steve Ditko (Dr. Strange).
